My name is Steven Levitas and I am a clinical psychologist.
In my practice, I aim to create a therapeutic space that feels safe, non-judgmental and supportive. I work with a variety of individuals experiencing multitude of emotional challenges, trauma, grief/loss, and change.
My primary approach to therapy is deeply Humanistic and Systemic at its core, with elements of cognitive-behavioural and dialectical behaviour therapy. I do however, believe that any approach should be tailored towards the needs of the individual. I work with individuals, couples and families. This work spans from stress management, personal growth and optimal performance, to psychological disorders such as anxiety/panic, OCD, depression, trauma, personality disorders, narcissistic abuse and neurodivergence. I also have special interest in the complexity of chronic pain and medical illness.
I am sensitive to the many ways that identity, relationships, culture, and life experiences shape how we feel and how we heal. I am proudly allied with the LGBTIQ+ community, and sensitive to non-traditional and alternative relationship styles.
Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially if you don’t know what to expect. We can take it at your pace, in a space that feels safe and empathetic, as you begin to make sense of what you are going through or have been through. Together we move to toward greater clarity, healing, and self-understanding.
