Welcome, my name is Bêne. I am a passionate and professional Counselling Psychologist practicing online and in Parkhurst, Johannesburg. I am honoured to work with adults facing a variety of life challenges including trauma, depression, anxiety, burnout and work-related stress, relationship difficulties, and bereavement. I have a special interest loss and grief, and am in the process of doing my PhD on disenfranchised grief. Whatever brings you to therapy, I hope to develop a strong therapeutic relationship with you and walk alongside you on your journey of healing.
I was trained in various therapeutic modalities which has allowed me to develop an integrative approach in my practice. My services are tailored to the individual and their unique context, circumstances and challenges. I offer a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space for clients to safely explore, understand and cope with various concerns.
Asking for help can be daunting but it can also be infinitely rewarding. As Carl R. Rogers once said, “When a person realises he has been deeply heard, his eyes moisten. I think in some real sense he is weeping for joy. It is as though he were saying, “Thank God, somebody heard me. Someone knows what it’s like to be me”.
